Using torn edges to highlight the physical properties of paper, this series also explores paper as a tactile and natural medium.

"Coalesce" is an exploration of communication between artists and expressing emotions through color. Inspired by Susan Chrysler White’s sculpture on Iowa State's campus, Greenfield responds with her own emotions and perceptions using mixed media collage. Created from torn magazine prints and delicately cut watercolor paper, the piece reflects how another artists work can inspire future artworks.

The use of torn paper arranged in a mosaic pattern emphasizes the tactile qualities of paper as a medium, reinforcing the connection between material and message in this artwork.
