I have a fascination of the way the world can transform what is in front of us. Atmosphere, water and reflections all work togh. A reflection can make something recognizable and unfamiliar at the same time. So can emotions.

Emotions and reflections can distort a person, a landscape, or a moment without completely removing what was there. It sets the tone. I think memory can work in a similar way. We hold onto pieces of an experience, but time changes how we see them.

Capturing a moment is like staring into a body of water. Reflections are transformed, colors amplified, emotions ripple on and under the surface.

I want my work to create a feeling before it provides an explanation. I hope viewers recognize something familiar in the work; A memory, a color, a feeling, or a moment of connection.
